The new CheckPoint Harmony system replaces Symantec Anti-Virus, ForcePoint website scanning, and the VPN system. It looks a little different than it used to, here are some features to be aware of.
1. The new icon looks like this
2. If you left click on this icon, you'll see the full menu
Starting from the top left, you can see my system is currently scanning for viruses. Next you can see the web filtering is working. Anti-Ransomware and other shields against intrusion finish up that top row, you should expect to see everything "on"
Second row, at the left you can see the VPN is currently disconnected. Clicking that button will connect/disconnect your VPN as needed. Compliance we're going to be looking at but currently the only other thing you'd need to be aware of in that second row is the Media Encryption Protection, that should be on and that protects your system against USB drives that may have compromised files on them including viruses. Finally you'll see on the bottom the Full Disk Encryption feature. That's a good thing to check if your PC is running slow, the Encryption process can be time consuming and might bog the computer down while going through all files on the PC and encrypting them.
3. Lastly, while it updates automatically on it's own, we will always recommend manually updating the anti-virus definitions as well as any new policies or features we deploy to the Harmony system. This can be done by right-clicking on that padlock icon shown in point 1, and left clicking on "update now"
